Almay Smart Shade CC Cream Complexion Corrector
Almay Smart Shade CC Cream is new for Summer 2013. Like Almay’s Smart Shade Foundation, this one is supposed to adjust to your skin tone.
Flawless coverage now. Beautiful skin later.
- Covers imperfections flawlessly
- Corrects discoloration
- Brightens & evens natural skin tone
- Helps prevent future damage with SPF 35
It’s available in three shades: Light, Light/Medium, and Medium. I purchased Light, which is too dark for my skin tone on application. It does adjust to something closer to my skin tone with blending, but it’s still too orange to be considered a match. If you have a medium skin tone, you’ll probably have an easier time finding a shade that works for you in this range.
Although Almay Smart Shade CC Cream is described as a complexion corrector, I don’t think this did very much for my complexion:
It does offer sheer to light coverage, but it doesn’t even out the redness in my cheeks enough for me. I had a lot of trouble layering this for higher coverage.
This is the first drugstore CC Cream I’ve come across and it’s the first CC Cream I’ve used, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. To me, this seems like a decent tinted moisturizer, but I could do without the Smart Shade technology because it doesn’t adjust very well.
Almay Smart Shade CC Cream isn’t a hit for me, but if you have a medium skin tone and you don’t need much coverage, you might want to try this. If you have a lighter or darker skin tone, you’ll probably have trouble finding a shade that will work for you. This foundation doesn’t layer well, so I’d avoid it if you need anything more than sheer or light coverage.
