I’ve been using Burt’s Bees popular lip care products for years, but I just recently tried the brand’s Lip Color Products…and I think they’re great! All of the products I tested are in the same color family, so they coordinate well. If you like berry shades, you’ll love these!
Lip Shine (MSRP $7.00) is a moisturizing, sheer lip gloss with a soft-shine finish. Its formula is thin and less sticky than most glosses I’ve used, which is great.
Tinted Lip Balm (MSRP $7.00) is a tinted lip balm, just like its name suggests. Its formula is sheer, but pigmented enough to add a noticeable tint to lips. This is super moisturizing and comfortable to wear–apparently Jessica Alba wears the shade Red Dhalia.
Lip Shimmer (MSRP $5.00) is scented and flavored like peppermint. It has a flattering shimmery finish that never looks too frosty and offers medium to full-coverage.
Lip Gloss (MSRP $9.00) has a glossy, subtly shimmery finish and offers medium to full-coverage. It’s non-sticky and super moisturizing. To me, its texture feels more like a liquid lip balm than a typical gloss.
If shades in the berry family aren’t your cup of tea, you can use the Lip Shade Finder on burtsbees.com to find a shade that complements your skin tone perfectly. It’ll also help you figure out whether you have warm or cool undertones, which can be super helpful in choosing makeup!
My favorite thing about these is that unlike so many other products that just cover lips up with pigment, these products actually nourish and add color. I also love that they’re simple and wearable yet versatile–all four products layer well. I like to wear the Tinted Lip Balm as a base under more opaque formulas to prep and nourish lips or add a little Lip Shine over the other products for a shiny finish.
