Desert Island Beauty Picks
If I had to limit my collection to only five products, here are the things I’d choose:
Before I started using this, I had very chapped lips that looked and felt parched all day, every day. Now I just apply a little bit of this balm when I wake up and before I go to bed and my lips stay hydrated all day! I also love using it on my cuticles.
Tretinoin is my favorite anti-aging product…and it effectively treats my acne!–read more here.
Foundation is probably my favorite kind of makeup, and no matter how many I buy, I end up using Lingerie De Peau nine times out of ten–read my review for swatches and more info.
I haven’t worn mascara for a while because I’ve been wearing lash extensions for the last six months or so, but mascara is definitely a beauty essential for me if I’m not wearing extensions. Voluptulash is by far my favorite–read more about why here.
Its packaging isn’t great, but I’m obsessed with this lightweight concealer because it has great staying power and never settles into fine lines. It’s very rare that I do my makeup without using it. Even when I opt for a concealer that has more heavy-duty coverage, I put Maestro on top to smooth out the look. Read my review for more info.
If I were really going to be on an island, I’d pack a little differently…I’d swap my foundation for Paula’s Choice Clear Ultra-Light Daily Fluid SPF 30+ (my favorite sunscreen at the moment) and I’d lose the concealer so I could bring deodorant. I’ve been using this weird crystal deodorant for the last few months because I wanted to stop using antiperspirants that clog pores–I’ll write a review soon.
