I’m the kind of girl who enjoys spending a lot of time on my makeup, but sometimes I just need to get out the door. Here’s my five minute makeup routine (realistically, it takes closer to seven minutes):
Apply a thin layer of foundation if you need to. Unless you have a lot of redness in your skin like I do, you can probably get away with skipping this step. It’s faster for me to apply a foundation (or tinted moisturizer, in this case) to even out my skin tone than it is to spot conceal.
Apply concealer or corrector under your eyes. If you skipped foundation, spot conceal, but don’t worry too much about perfecting your complexion or you’ll spend far longer than five minutes doing your makeup.
I used DeVita Moisture Tints in Light and Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser Concealer #2.
Powders and brows
Use pressed or loose powder to set the cream and liquid products you just used. Then use your favorite blush. If you have time, use a darker powder, contour powder, or bronzer to do some light contouring.
Fill in your brows (this is one of the steps you really shouldn’t skip!). I’ve been using MAC Omega and a 239 when I’m in a rush.
I used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium and Medium Dark, MAC Well Dressed, MAC Omega, and a MAC 239.
Eyes and lips
Curl your lashes and apply black mascara. Apply your favorite lipstick or gloss.
I used a Shiseido lash curler, CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara, and Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 01 Rose Shimmer.
If you find you can spend less time on an area than I do (maybe you don’t need to wear foundation because you have less redness in your skin), add eyeshadow!
