According to L’Oreal…
The pro look of longwear. Air-light texture, barely there feel. Flawless, demi-matte finish. Achieve a matte finish that won’t fall flat with this air-light, longwearing liquid formula. Lightweight and creamy, foundation goes on smooth with a demi-matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours—hiding imperfections for a smooth, clear complexion.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation is a new longwear foundation that is supposed to wear for twenty-four hours. Pro-Matte is packaged in a hygienic squeeze-tube that works well for travel. It offers medium coverage but doesn’t build as well as some other foundations, so if you prefer full coverage, I’d opt for something else.
Pro-Matte has a demi-matte finish that manages to keep oil at bay without looking overly flat. This is one of those foundations that actually looks better on me after a few hours. For the first few hours, it accentuates dry areas and fine lines and just isn’t very flattering. If your skin is super dry, I would avoid this foundation (even if you’re looking for a longwear product) because it clings to dry spots.
If your skin is oily like mine, you’re going to love this! The first time I wore Pro-Matte, I didn’t set it with powder and it still looked great eight hours later. It even lasted through a sweaty workout!
Pro-Matte is available in twelve shades. It’s hard to choose a good match in the store because all of the shades look very similar since the packaging is pretty much opaque. I mistakenly bought 104 Golden Beige instead of a lighter shade that would have been a better match for me. 104 Golden Beige is too dark and a little too warm for my skin tone; I’m wearing it on the right side of my face only here:
L’Oreal also released a mattifying powder and setting spray with this foundation. I haven’t tried either but would love to hear your thoughts if you have!
I’d stay away from this if you have dry skin, but Pro-Matte wears impressively on oily skin.
