According to Maybelline…
Why You’ll Love It:
True naked pigments for honest flesh tone color.
Uniquely sensuous feel from our precious oils.
For Best Results:
Apply your nude lip color lipstick by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.
The shades in Maybelline’s new line of nudes, Color Sensational The Buffs, are designed to mimic and flatter real skin tones. You’ll find some peachy shades and some with pink in them, but many of the shades have fleshier tones.
There are ten shades in The Buffs range. I picked up the second and third lightest because I have a very light skin tone:
When swatched, Blushing Beige appears warmer that Nude Lust, but they look very similar when worn. The finish of these two shades looks just a little more sheer than that of the shades in the original Color Sensational line. I’ve swatched darker The Buffs shades, and those look more opaque to me. I wouldn’t call them drying, but Blushing Beige and Nude Lust are also slightly less hydrating than most of the Color Sensational shades I own.
Even if you’re not in love with the look of the particularly pale nudes I’ve swatched here, it might be worth checking out the rest of The Buffs. Some of the deeper shades are more wearable and it’s likely that you’ll be able to wear more than one of the shades in the line.
