New for Spring 2013: NYX Butter Gloss
NYX Butter Gloss ($5.00, 8ml.) is available in 12 shades. Butter Gloss can be worn alone or over lipstick to add a soft shine. A representative of the brand was kind enough to send me a few shades for review. I love so many NYX lip products, so I was really excited to try these.
Butter Glosses are moisturizing and non-sticky. They have a doe foot applicator and a really sweet smell, but the scent dissipates quickly. In one swipe, you get a sheer tint of color. Two swipes give you medium coverage. Even though they’re sheer, Butter Glosses have more of a creamy finish than a transparent finish. These wear for about an hour or two on me, but they feel moisturizing for longer.
Of the twelve shades in the Butter Gloss range, most are wearable, light and mid-tone pinks and peaches, but there are a few brighter shades as well. Some colors had a streakier application than others (Merengue and Creme Brulee settled into fine lines a bit).
Creme Brulee is a light peachy, natural pink.
Tiramisu is a mid-tone pinky brown.
Apple Strudel is a mid-tone pinky peach.
Cherry Cheese Cake is a sheer orange.
Merengue is a lavender pink.
Strawberry Parfait is a sheer fuchsia.
Butter Gloss is another interesting and affordable lip gloss from NYX. I love the creamy, moisturizing formula and the wearable shade range. If you like natural looking, non-sticky shine, you’ll love Butter Gloss.
