Tangle Teezer vs The Wet Brush

A while back, I wrote a comparison of two popular detangling brushes (The Wet Brush and The Tangle Teezer) and concluded that they’re equally effective. Since then, I’ve been using both on and off and have recently realized that one has a major drawback that I overlooked in my first review. Here’s the problem: the Tangle Teezer pulls out so much more of my hair than The Wet Brush.

I understand that some amount of hair will fall out any time you brush, but I like to keep as much hair as possible attached to my head. Your mileage may vary, but I’ve noticed that Wet Brush pulls about an eighth as much hair from my head as The Tangle Teezer–that’s a lot less!

Bottom Line

If you’re switching from an old school hairbrush to one of these next generation detangling brushes, The Tangle Teezer should still pull out significantly less hair. But if you’re deciding between a Tangle Teezer and a Wet Brush, I’d go for a Wet Brush.
