Real Techniques Kabuki Brush ($9.99)
Use the 2-in-1 kabuki closed for powder, then unfold to sweep on color for high-definition results:
look pixel-perfect even in harsh light
ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
self-standing for easy storage
When I purchased it, I thought this brush was designed to apply setting powder and bronzer based on the description above. I later watched this video tutorial on realtechniques.com and found out that it’s meant to be used for blush and bronzer: use it unfolded to apply contour powder or bronzer under your cheek bones to sculpt your face, and use it folded to apply blush. I also love using it folded to contour my forehead.
My only gripe with this brush is that unless I’m on vacation, I prefer to use different brushes for different purposes. But that’s really a matter of personal preference and not a flaw in the design of the Kabuki Brush. If you prefer to use only a brush or two, this one is really great at multitasking.
Like all Real Techniques brushes, this has cruelty-free taklon bristles. Because it’s synthetic, this brush is easy to wash and dries faster than natural hair brushes. I haven’t had any shedding issues after washing.
I wouldn’t normally use the same brush for blush and bronzer, but this 2-in-1 brush is perfect for travel. It’s an excellent bronzer brush that works well as a multitasker if you want or need it to.
