According to Rimmel…
A long-lasting intense colour balm in a handy jumbo pencil. Balm formula offers all-day comfort and a long-lasting surge of moisture. Give lips a rush of colour adrenaline in 14 high voltage shades. Dermatologically tested.
It seems like there are about a million jumbo lip pencils out there, but here’s another! Rimmel Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balm has a lightweight, balmy texture and feels more hydrating than many similar products I’ve tried. Its packaging isn’t anything special, but, as always, I find that the jumbo pencil format makes for convenient application and touch-ups.
It has a flattering glossy finish on application. After a few hours, the gloss fades and leaves behind an even stain that lasts for hours and hours. Although Rimmel doesn’t market this as a stain, it’s one of the better affordable lip stains I’ve tried.
Colour Rush Balm is available in fourteen awesome shades. I picked up these four:
Rimmel’s Colour Rush Balms are more pigmented than Clinique Chubby Sticks, Clinique Chubby Stick Intenses, and Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Sticks (reviewed here). Those three formulas are lightly moisturizing but don’t stain, Rimmel’s is also hydrating and leaves an even stain on lips for hours after the balm itself has worn off.
Colour Rush is about as pigmented as Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm but is more moisturizing and leaves a better stain. Its formula is also similar to that of Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, but I find the Rimmel product more flattering on uneven or dry areas.
There are so many similar products out there, but Rimmel’s is my new favorite jumbo lip pencil. It’s super pigmented, available in a great shade range, and fades evenly to a beautiful stain.
