Tatcha Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm

This is my second post about lip balm this week! Lanolin is a great inexpensive option, but if you’re looking for luxury, Tatcha’s Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm is the way to go.

According to Tatcha…

  • What it is: This intensely hydrating lip balm absorbs quickly and smoothly, leaving lips soft and touchable. The 24-karat gold leaf crushes upon application.
  • Why it’s different: Hand-laid 24-karat gold leaf adds a touch of sensual shimmer.
  • Who it’s for: Ideal for all skin types.

Like everything Tatcha makes, this is beautifully packaged–it would make a great gift. It has a thin texture that feels super lightweight yet hydrating on lips. I use lip balm all day long, and this has made a beautiful addition to my touch up kit (I also love Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Mist (review to come) and Original Aburatorigami Blotting Papers for touch ups and travel).

This lip balm has a 24-karat gold leaf overlay that adds some subtle shimmer to lips. It looks nice alone or under or even over lipstick:

Its thin texture makes this balm layer well under other products even if you add them immediately after application. It’s also great for sensitive skin because it’s formulated without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, DEA, TEA, urea or phthalates.
