According to Tatcha…
“Luxurious yet weightless feeling gel-cream of Liquid Silk, Squalane, Royal Jelly + HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex. Long-lasting anti-aging moisturizer without heavy oils. Ideal for oily and normal/combination skin. Non-irritating. Non-sensitizing.”
Finding the right products to hydrate oily skin is difficult. For the longest time, I avoided moisturizer altogether because most formulas made my skin look super greasy after a few hours or even immediately after application. A few months ago, I decided to buckle down and start moisturizing my oily skin after reading this post by skin care guru Caroline Hirons.
After trying a bunch of popular creams that claim to suit oily skin, I finally landed on Tatcha Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream, which actually does suit my oily skin.
It has a lightweight, gel-like formula that sinks into skin instead of sitting on top. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, not greasy and makes a great base for makeup.
Like all of Tacha’s products, this cream is beautifuly packaged. It comes in a weighty jar with a little gold spatula attached to the top with a ribbon. Tatcha suggests using it to scoop out a pearl-sized amount for application. I just use my fingers because I’m not sure using the spatula is any more hygienic, but the spatula certainly looks pretty!
At $150.00 for 1.7 oz, this is expensive, so you might want to try before you buy. Tatcha sells a 0.34 oz trial-sized Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream for $33.00, which is also included in their Ritual Discovery Kit for normal, oily, and sensitive skin types (reviewed here).
If most moisturizers make your skin look or feel greasy, Supple Moisture Rich Silk Cream might be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s lightweight and gives skin a pretty glow that doesn’t turn oily after a few hours. This has a beautiful formula that works well for combination and oily skin types, but it may not be worth the splurge if your skin isn’t oily.
