According to Wet n Wild…
New improved formula and packaging. Rich, creamy, bulidable color that feels like silk on the lips. Enriched with conditioning ingredients of vitamins A & E, aloe vera, and macadamia nut oil.
Wet n Wild has revamped their Silk Finish Lipstick for 2015, so I thought it would be a great time to talk about this formula. It’s a steal at only $0.99!
I’m not too familiar with the original Silk Finish line (I swatched one shade, Nouveau Pink here), but from what I can tell, this new version isn’t all that different from the old one. The old formula was great though, so that’s fine with me.
The biggest difference is the packaging, which is black now. It still feels a little cheap, but for expensive looking packaging, I’d expect to pay more than ninety-nine cents!
This feels lightly moisturizing and camouflages dryness well but isn’t so creamy that it tends to creep over the lip line. Plus, it’s more pigmented than even my favorite high-end formula, NARS Lipstick (swatches here). It’s about as pigmented but less moisturizing than ELF Studio Moisturizing Lipstick, my 2014 pick for best drugstore lipstick (swatches & review here), but ELF’s lipstick is three times the price of Wet n Wild’s.
Silk Finish is available in twenty-four shades, many of which are non-discontinued shades from the original line. I tested 15 Minutes Aflame and What’s Up Doc?, both are new:
Silk Finish is an excellent formula. It’s almost shocking how cheap this lipstick is!
